New Mbp and Mb
After setting up the host it was time to do the thing a blogger is suppose to do.. blog.
I was curious if the new Apple notebook were significally better than the early 2008 ones. Thanks to the “new” (to Apple at least) Montevina platform the bus speed is higher than before, now using 1066Mhz and it can take DDR3 ram so I thought these new notebooks were going to fucking fly!!… that’s not the case, processor wise both models were virtually as fast as the old ones, the benchmark used was Geekbench, this benchmark doesn’t measure the Gpu and i think thats where the new notebooks improved a lot, at least the macbook.
You can take a look to the benchmarks here.
You can also benchmark your own machine there at Geekbench, its fun to compare your machine with other people’s … but I guess is not that fun if you have an old or slow machine, or maybe a netbook or something.
