Boxee
A few days ago I found about this site www.boxee.tv, basically is a media software you can use in your “personal” computer or in a “media center” computer, anyways, the cool thing about it is that you can have friends, just like facebook or any social network, and they will know what you are watching, what you watched, what you like, what you don’t,etc. Boxee also works with music and it has the same features with it.
Although Boxee is still at Alpha it’s a wonderfull software and if you have a computer with MacOs (Intel processor) or Linux send me an email or leave a comment so I can send you an invitation, you won’t regret it.
The software has some issues though, it consumes to mucch processor power on my Penryn Mbp and the thing goes crazy hot, so I can’t use it on my lap for too long. The first time I started Boxee I couldn’t watch any videos, I though it was some codec problem or something, but magically, the next times I played them with no problems at all. The last problem I experienced was the “highjacking” of Front Row, after installing Boxee I couldn’t get Front Row to work, there’s a simple solution for this and it is posted at Boxee forums.
That’s pretty much all the bugs I could find at the MacOs version, don’t know about the linux version, but i recomend you to give it a try, if you can get an Apple TV or a Mac Mini you can use them as your media center with Boxee installed in them.
The thing I liked the most about Boxee it was the interface it is gorgeous both in design and in functionality. I also loved that boxee gets the cover and info of every movie/series you have in your computer (of course you have to give boxee access to them), the info is dead on accurate and this also works with your music.

Overall Boxee is a very good media software and I think is going to get only better and better, as I said before if you have MacOs or Linux you should definately get this.
