Two years ago Intel presented the Core 2 Duo processors, now Corei7 is almost ready for selling, and this one is going to mark a lot of difference between him and his predecessor, Intel plans to start selling them this year, the “extreme” family at least, so we may start seeing this ones in the wild sooner than we think, and I can’t wait until it happens.

However some people already got one of them and of course they benchmarked it, they said that its 25% at coding video and 100% faster at stuff like file decompression, of course these marks may change, and this is the extreme family so the ones most people will get are not going to be as faster as these ones, they also claim that the Core i7-965 Extreme Edition is capable of 80 GFLOPS of raw processing… if you don’t know what is that it means it fast…. really fast.

I think this will finally give us a change at general speed, and when the mobile versions come out even the notebooks will have a lot of processor power, not that they don’t have it today, but the difference between laptop revision nowadays are so small tha you can’t tell the difference performance-wise. Anyways, well have to wait until the final product arrives so we can give Corei7 a final veredict.

Well, I think nowadays even Windows Mobile is better than Windows Vista, and Ubuntu 8.10 it’s also better than Vista, after its release a few days ago, Ubuntu 8.10 was benchmarked along with Vista in a computer with the same specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 CPU at 2.53 GHz, an Elitegroup Computer Systems G31T-M motherboard with integrated Intel graphics and 2 GB of SDRAM.

First they installed Vista in it and it was benchmarked using Primatech’s Geekbench where the system got a score of 2838. After that they did a clean reinstall using Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10) the same system using ubuntu got a score of 3367, that means that Vista is slower, and needs more processor power to do the same things.

After that they tested the boot time, where Ubuntu won by a margin of 6 seconds, that’s not a lot, but its faster… Intrepid Ibex also comes with a new intuitive console for Wifi networks, and they also improved the used of these.

I think this shows how bad Vista is, and it was a Microsoft mistake to release that kind of OS, only for the money. I hope that Windows 7 will be an exception, because Microsoft has the power to do great things, and they don’t take advantage of them, and we the final users are the one being affected by it.

I’m a Beatles sucker… I really like their music and I think they are one if not the greatest band of all times, so I think this game is going to be a total success because the game is going to be something like Guitar Hero Aerosmith but is going to be made by MTV Games and Harmonix (Rock Band developers).

The game already has the support of Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Yoko Ono,etc. and this is going to be the first content of The Beatles to be released online, I hope that now songs, videos,etc. will be released for buying online, because if not I think The Beatles will slowly disapear for future generations.

I just found this website where you can find out how well you can tell colors apart, in other words, you can test your color IQ. I’ve used Photoshop quite a lot, and I thought I had a pretty good eye at telling colors apart,etc. well I thought right, it’s not pretty hard actually, just order the colors in hue order, and that’s it, according to the test I have a perfect color vision, which means i scored 0, and you??, do you have a good color vision??

Microsoft started his last ad campaign with 2 commercials featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates, they were pretty funny, and people liked them, but they were kind of weird, and I think most people wouldn’t “get” it, after the 2 commercials Microsoft started to release their “I’m a PC” ads, and they though that they were going to “unstereotype” that Apple created for PC’s… well they should have though it more.

A recent study showed, that Apple ads are still getting more attention than the Microsoft ones, the Seinfeld ones did great, in fact they did better than Apple latest ads, but there’s only two of them and Apple has been releasing this kind of ads for years. I’m not an Apple fan guy, and I think Microsoft ads are pretty good, but I also think that they should get another ad strategy, the firsts ones of this campaign seemed to work, so go and make more Seinfeld/Gates ads Microsoft, because if you don’t Apple will still have better ads and marketing as a whole.
